What are glue records?
Back to dnsWhat are glue records?
Glue records are needed when you want to use your own nameservers.
For example, if you want to use ns1.exampledomain.com and link domains to it, you need to report the ip address that will be used for it to the registry. These are called glue records.
You indicate that a name server has to go to a certain ip address.
Without glue records, the name server can't resolve properly, because the domain doesn't know which ip address to go to.
The glue records only really become active, once you link the nameservers + glue records to the domain name itself.
For example: to use ns1.exampledomain.com with glue 127.0.0.1 you must link the name server to the domain name exampledomain.com.
If you add glue records on another domain, this will not work.
How do I set up glue records?
Login to my.oxxa.com
