What is the Managed DNS?
Back to portalIf you don't have your own name servers, you can use our own name servers for free. We call this our Managed DNS. You can find this functionality under every domain name in my.oxxa.com.
Technique
The name server platform is a very robust and redundant solution based on PowerDNS and consists of three public name servers ns1.thednscompany.com, ns2.thednscompany.com and ns3.thednscompany.com. These nameservers are geographically separated which guarantees continuity. In addition, the domain name thednscompany.com, which provides the three nameservers, is protected by a registry lock. This makes any change to the domain name impossible.
PowerDNS supports among others the following record types: A, AAAA, SRV, MX, CNAME, CAA, TLSA, TXT.
DNSSEC
DNS was developed decades ago with limited attention to security. Partly because of this, we see a lot of abuse of DNS traffic in practice. To prevent these so-called man-in-the-middle attacks, we use DNSSEC. DNSSEC stands for Domain Name System Security Extensions and is implemented automatically for every domain name with Managed DNS. Exceptions are domain names that do not support DNSSEC.
