How do I set up an email filter on cPanel?
Back to emailSometimes it is useful to set up a? e-mail filter for a user.
This is often in situations where a sender is sending spam, and this mail is best deleted right away.|?
But it can also be used for certain mails that can be sorted immediately.
To set up an email filter follow these steps:
- Log in to cPanel with the known credentials.
- Under the "E-mail" heading, navigate to "E-mail Filters."
- In this screen, select the user you want to set the filter for by clicking "Manage Filters."
- In the next screen, you can modify existing filters, or create a new one. We will assume here that a rule is created, but modifying it works the same way.
- First, you enter the "Filter Name." This will be the name used for this rule.
- Under "Rules" you enter the condition of the rules. For example if you enter "from" and "contains" and the text "domain.nl"?the specified action is performed on all mail received from "domain.nl". There are a few different options available for this.
- Under "Actions" you can specify the desired action for the mails that meet the rules, for example "deliver to a folder" causes them to be automatically sorted to a particular folder.
- Click "Create" to make this rule active.
Under "Rules" and "Actions", multiple rules or actions can also be applied by right-clicking the plus sign and adding another rule or action.
