How do I start an escalation procedure for a .nl domain?

Back to domains

Introduction:
Sometimes it can happen that you have transferred your domain name to another party that is no longer responsive.
For example, when you want to request the transfer code and the current party is no longer responding, preventing you from moving your domain name.
This is an annoying situation. Fortunately, SIDN has an escalation procedure for .nl domains.
This procedure is only available for .nl domains, unfortunately it is not possible for other extensions.

Verification
To make sure that SIDN hands over the transfer code to the right person, the registrant of the domain name is checked.
We then need data from the holder. It is always very important to check if the holder of the domain name is set up correctly.

How do I start the escalation procedure?
You can start the escalation procedure by sending an email to our support department, providing the following documents:
1: a recent copy of the Chamber of Commerce extract (if the holder has a business profile).
2: a copy of the ID card of the person listed in the Chamber of Commerce (from the copy, irrelevant data may be crossed out / omitted, such as a photo, or you can add a watermark).
3: A signed letter by the holder who is also in the KVK / ID card) on letterhead, which you can then scan.
State clearly why you want to use the escalation procedure (for example because the other party does not cooperate, does not respond and does not provide a transfer code), and that you therefore want to transfer the domain name to: The Registrar Company BV.

Once we have received the email + documents, we can start the escalation procedure.
SIDN will then make a decision to issue the transfer code within a maximum of 5 working days.
