How do I create an email account in cPanel?
Back to emailTo create a mail account in cPanel you can follow the following steps:
- Log in to your user account on cPanel.
- Under the "Email" heading, go to "Email accounts."
- Click on "Create" here.
- Under "Username" enter the desired username?
This is also the name that will appear before the "@" in the e-mail address. - Enter the desired password or press "Generate" to have a password generated.
- At "Storage Space" you can set a quota for the desired size.?
If this space is exceeded no mails can be sent or received. - After these settings are made the account can be created for use, the other options are described below.
- Click on "Create" to create the account.
You can now use the e-mail account, you can set it up with the data entered on your mail application.
Other settings
Under "Security" you have the option to provide an alternate email address with the option "Provide alternate email".
This will send a password reset link to this email address to create the password.
There is an option within cPanel to automatically create folders for plus addresses.
If this option is on and a mail arrives at the email address "user+map@domein.nl", that a folder named "folder" is automatically created and the mail is delivered into it.?
When the option is turned off, this mail arrives in the inbox and no new folder is created.
