Trade names can be included in the certificate. This will look like the following:"Company Name" OR "Trade Name (Company Name)."
If you only want to show the trade name, this is not possible without changing the company name with the Chamber of Commerce.
OXXA.com offers various certificates where Extended Validation certificates are ideal for encrypting/encrypting important data. Moreover, an EV certificate radiates confidence, partly due to the validation and the name of your company which is visible in the certificate.
- WHOIS data
When applying for such an EV certificate as the True Business EV, your identity is verified. This starts with the WHOIS data of the domain. These should match the data you provide, where it is important that these data also match the Chamber of Commerce extract which you need to provide upon request from our support. In the case of individuals, a copy of the identity document is sufficient. - Application approval
When the request is placed by us you will receive a confirmation of the request at the e-mail address of the domain name holder or at a predetermined address such as postmaster@ , admin@ , administrator@ etc. You need to approve the request by clicking the link in the message. - Agreement with Certificate Authority (CA)
Then you will receive an agreement from the (CA) which needs to be signed by you (the domain name holder). After signing this agreement you have to send it back to us. - Control of the Chamber of Commerce
The Certificate Authority checks the data in the extract. When the company name differs from the WHOIS data of the domain the WHOIS data needs to be adjusted by the domain name holder. - Bank Conformation
The domain name holder (business) needs to be in existence for at least 3 years. If this is not the case, the Certificate Authority will ask for a bank validation. The bank in question will have to indicate on letterhead that the company in question does business with the bank. A stamp of the bank is required. - Professional opinion letter
Because of the high amount of insurance the CA offers, sometimes (when there is still some doubt) the professional opinion letter is requested. A lawyer has to confirm the identity of the registrant. The CA can contact the registrant to verify the identity.
The above is a summary of the validation possibilities, it is not always necessary to go through all the validation methods. Moreover, you will be called at the phone number from the Chamber of Commerce or at the phone number in the WHOIS of the domain in question where the company data will be checked.
All certificates from Oxxa.com are similar to each other in terms of encryption, all are of the very high encryption of 256 bit. The differences are in the validation, where with an EV certificate the identity of the domain owner must be 100% certain.
By the way, with an EV certificate you have a green bar in the browser as you can also see when you look in the address bar. This also directly shows the company name.
If you still have questions, feel free to ask our support at 088-7507070 or send an email to support@oxxa.com.
Business applications may not be entered with a free obtainable address. Or as the CA (GeoTrust) itself puts it:
"Corporate contact's person's email may not be a free email address. You may only provide a paying (or corporate) email address."
The email address must be an address of a paid (corporate) domain.
With an EV certificate, GeoTrust validates the organization by phone. The phone number can be obtained in several ways:
- Chamber of Commerce excerpt.
- Phone numbers on the website itself.
- WHOIS information of the domain.
- From one or more third parties.
