Message from DNS Belgium
During the tests performed by a number of registrars on our test system, some situations emerged that are not yet fully covered by our additional checks. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the introduction of the extra checks. This will give us time to investigate these cases in more detail so that in no case will you run into a problem when creating or updating a contact.

As of October 15, 2024, stricter rules will apply to registering a .BE domain name. One important change is that when registering a business contacthandle, a VAT number will be required to be entered. These new rules apply to new registrations and transfers of .BE domain names. These rules also apply when you change the details of a domain name holder.
Why these changes?
We are making these changes to improve the quality of our database. Entering data correctly reduces the chance that a contact needs to be verified (Registrant Verification). This is in line with NIS2 guidelines, which promote better security and data management.
